Top 5 Men's Accessory Trends to Follow at New York Fashion Week SS2027

The Spring/Summer 2027 menswear story didn't start in New York. It started in Florence, at Pitti Uomo's 110th edition in June, then moved to Milan Men's Fashion Week days later. More than 720 brands showed at Pitti alone, nearly half of them from outside Italy.

Ralph Lauren and Thom Browne both returned to the Milan calendar this season, alongside guest appearances that gave the whole week more weight than usual.

Milan needed that weight. Italian menswear contracted 1.7 percent to €9.38 billion between 2024 and 2025, and more than 26,000 multi-brand stores have closed across Italy in the past five years. A stacked calendar of guest designers is partly a strategy to keep the industry's attention.

New York Fashion Week SS2027 runs September 10 through 15, with New York Men's Day on the official CFDA calendar. That's where the story lands next.

What's already showing up on the men's runways signals what to expect when the story reaches New York. Count it down.

Try Chain Cufflinks

The bare cufflink is getting company. Small linked chains, worn as an extension of the cufflink itself, showed up as one of the season's quieter but more repeated details.

It's a smaller cousin of the brooch trend, decoration without going full statement piece. Easier to wear into an office the next morning, too, since nobody in a client meeting is going to ask about a cufflink chain the way they would a snake brooch.

The HAWSON Multi-Coloured Crystals Cufflinks with Chain and the HAWSON 24K Gold Tone Crystal Cufflinks with Chain both build the detail in from the start. For a plainer version, the HAWSON Shiny Gold Tone Cufflinks with Chain does the same job with less shine.

Wear any of the three with a French cuff shirt only.

The next trend is less quiet.

Go Vintage

Retailers covering Milan flagged a return to heritage pieces this season: Prada's Peter Pan collars, Ralph Lauren's madras and tattersall, Brunello Cucinelli's garment-dyed knitwear. Refinement over novelty, in a season that could have gone the other way.

Accessories are following the same instinct. The HAWSON Vintage Cufflinks and Studs Set, black enamel over rose gold florals, reads closer to something inherited than something bought last week. Wear it with a heritage plaid or tweed.

The Vintage Floral Cufflinks and Tuxedo Studs Set covers the same ground for anyone who needs the full stud row too. Save it for a black suit and white shirt, nothing patterned underneath. The next trend goes the opposite direction.

Go Bold

Stacked brooches on denim, statement pins that don't hide, accessories built to be the first thing someone notices, not the last.

That kind of maximalism has been building for a couple of seasons on the women's side. Menswear is only now catching up to it.

The Gold Dollar Sign Cufflinks with Crystal Border fit that mood. Unapologetic, a little maximalist. Wear it alone, no other jewelry competing.

Color works the same way.

The HAWSON Turquoise Cufflinks and Studs Set trades gold for a shade nobody else in the room is wearing. Pair it with a plain white shirt so the color does the talking. Not every trend this season is this loud, though.

Wear Florals

Rocha's Pitti Uomo show leaned hard into floral detail on menswear, an idea Milan's runways picked up and ran with all week. It's a softer counterpart to the brooch trend, decoration through color and shape instead of scale.

The HAWSON 18K Gold Tone Rose Lapel Pin and the matching Gold Tone Rose Tie Clip let you try the trend without redesigning your whole wardrobe around it. Wear the pin on the lapel, the clip on a plain tie.

Which brings us to the trend that started it all.

Wear a Brooch

Pins and small-scale jewelry flourishes turned up across the Spring 2027 shows, a shift away from the bare lapel.

Simone Rocha's guest designer debut at Pitti Uomo set the tone first, with a romantic, detail-heavy collection that softened traditional menswear. It was staged inside a 17th-century opera house in Florence, and the mood carried straight into Milan the following week. Feather boas and arm garters showed up in the same reporting, small flourishes layered onto otherwise classic tailoring.

The Pink Zircon Snake Brooch picks up that same energy, gold-plated and built to be noticed. Pin it above the pocket square, not on the tie, so it doesn't compete with the tie itself.

You don't need a boa to get the idea. The Multicolor Crystal Feather Brooch translates the same instinct into something you can wear to work the next morning. Wear it alone, and skip the tie clip that day.

How to Wear These Trends

Five trends is a lot to wear at once. Nobody at New York Men's Day is stacking a snake brooch, a feather pin, a rose tie clip, and chain cufflinks on the same jacket.

Pick one. Let it carry the outfit, and keep everything else in the classic register: a plain shirt, a suit that doesn't compete for attention.

That holds for loud trends like the brooch and quiet ones like the chain cufflinks alike. One detail reads as a choice. Three details read as a costume. The story doesn't end with New York, either.

New York Fashion Week Ahead

Pitti Uomo and Milan set the direction in June. New York Fashion Week SS2027 confirms it, or complicates it, starting September 10.

Retailers who covered both cities are already placing orders based on what showed there, which means what lands in stores next spring is largely decided already. New York's job is closer to validation than invention this season.

The Chain Cufflinks collection, the Classic Cufflinks collection, and the Gold Color Tie Clip collection all go deeper than five picks, if one trend here catches your eye more than the rest.

Runway trends move fast. What actually works on a real jacket, on a real Tuesday, moves a little slower, and that's usually the better bet.
